Building Bridges, Vaulting Fences

Emma's day included Pyrintö Mixed team's match in Turku. They won by 1 point :)

Leevi will have a Reserve Officer School's course ball next Friday, some new accessories were needed for the occasion. We also visited Mältinranta artcenter, where we enjoyed artist group ROP's (Tuomo Rosenlund and Pekko Orava) clever sculptures at the exhibition called Building Bridges, Vaulting Fences. In the picture is a detail of their work Everything is Within. 

The sculpture consists of two parts . In the foreground is an island, on which is a house, and on top of it stands a female figure. In the background is a City skyline, which is bounded by a wall. The island has torn from the mainland. The female character looks ahead, into the future, into the open space. The work Everything is Within is all about exceeding oneself and overcoming their own internal inhibitions. It is about believing in tomorrow and listening the inner voice.
