Floral Tribute(s)

It seems that we have an increase in floral tributes wherever we go theses days.

I can get used to seeing these on roads or fences (if not a bit uncomfortable for some), in remembrance of someone who has died at the scene, an accident or whatever. But now this act appears to be extending to other public places that are not necessarily the 'scene' ... this morning there were at least three tributes on public benches on the way up to the top of Blackford Hill in Edinburgh, including one on the Trig Point at the summit as captured yesterday by Eco Dad + as well as myself.

But what happens when these begin to fade or perish?
Who has the responsibility to remove them?
Would you feel comfortable disposing of the flowers so you can take a rest on that bench? When is it right to do so ... when they're past their best or when they're turning to compost?
These particular ones are tied on with string ... so it's not as if I could just bump into them and they fall off; it has to be a deliberate act!

And what about the plastic bags and cellophane wrappings - maybe its just me, but I think there might be better ways of remembering those who have passed away without necessarily impacting on everone else's public spaces?
