DAY 6

Got my dates muddled!!! This is really the 19th!!

Lazy start then a drive into Salzburg.
We decided to take the long route going round the mountain road and the quick way back this evening.

We got a hop on hop off bus tour around the city and to visit various sights from The Sound of Music. Then we walked around the old town, visited Mozart's birthplace (which now has a Spar shop in it!!! Although tastefully done) and we stopped for lunch at an Italian!!
After dinner we visited the "College Church", the cathedral and got the funicular railway to the Festungsbahn Hohensalzburg (the castle!) where we took this great view. It was a shame the weather had misted over but you get the idea!!
We then went to get the car out of the car park and were hit with a €19 charge as we hadn't read the charges were per 20 min not an hour!!
The Satnav decided to re route us back via the mountain roads to get home in the dark and then it started snowing quite heavily!! The Rev did a fab job driving!
Now packing for our return trip tomorrow.
