It's been a windy Friday. The hold-on-to-your-hats kind. Waves have been fascinating to watch.

I don't remember if I told you about the linen episode on the night of our arrival. The washing machine was full of laundry and we didn't have the duvet cover nor pillow cases of the right sizes here for the duvet and pillows that are given. We have our own linen with us, but those are for "nordic" sizes. We called the property manager at around 9 pm and he brought back useful ones and took the wet laundry with him. Well, today he called and said he'd bring us some linen. I thought he meant a change set because we'll be here for a month. That was not the case. He brought back the linen that was in the washing machine, but once again those don't fit the duvet nor the pillows that are on the bed. My husband was here for the change and didn't check the delivery and here we are, but this time my humor is on it's end. Solution. We went out and bought our own duvets. Duvets that fit our own linen. We will need those eventually in our own home, so it's just an investment made in advance. Pillows we've had with us the whole journey. Personal pillow is just too important.

Have I told you about the bed? It's a mattress with most of it's strings(?) broken inside. There's a huge hole in the middle. Yesterday evening we turned the mattress horizontally 180° and it made sleeping slightly better, but it's still a bed from hell. I wake up in the middle of a sleep to having numb limb at least 3-4 times a night. I think I'll exhausted after this month. First the roosters to wake me up after 3 am, now the bed being just rubbish. Also the kitchen table is so wobble I'm afraid it will just crash down. Oh, and I almost forgot about the towels, We got one small hand towel and one big normal size for washing. Again, we use our own.

Our idea is to have a guest house that we will rent out through airbnb. I've leaned so much of what one actually needs to be able to have a decent time. There are all items that have been missing in one or more places.
1) A good bed, with fitting linen. Towels for humans and kitchen.  Don't forget the hand towels.
2) A good size sturdy table. We've seen these micro tables everywhere and those just drive you mad. If there is a desk to use for computing ect then the smaller table is enough. There never is a second table.
3) Coat hooks in the vestibule and also behind some doors like in the bathroom and bedroom. 
4) Entrance carpet to wipe your feet on. Also a rack for shoes would be nice.
5) Enough room to put your bags and some of your stuff so you don't have to jump over them.
6) Heating of some sort. Warm water.
7) Microwave oven makes life easier. Especially if you don't have any other kind of oven.
8) At least a bottle of water in the fridge. In few places (all being Spanish hosts) we've gotten, water, wine / beer, breakfast items, coffee ect. All the other nationalities have give us a light in the fridge. I'm with the Spanish on this one. It would be nice to at least drink a glass of water after your journey and then head to grocery store. 
9) Wifi. Can't live without wifi. Period.

I might have forgotten something from my list. We'll try to do things as we've learned on our way. Perhaps other people  want other things, but this is the basic level on my opinion.

I've heard horror stories from friends who use airbnb too. Like the house being occupied with spiders. They left the place immediately. Or lack of warm water totally due to broken water heater. I think too many people are just out to make a buck of the renting and do not consider what it's  like to live in an apartment that's too stripped. We are traveling with dogs, so we have lot less to choose from when it comes to rentals. There's not many around that let you come with 3 dogs, so we mostly have to bend to have a roof over our head. As an emergency back up we have all the hotels of one chain that is pet friendly in most hotels and always has wifi.
