Diary of an Edinburgher

The new regime

So glad to be back home and not have to go sightseeing!

JR's cold now includes a terrible chesty cough, and she's really not well. Though each day she says, 'I'm feeling better...' this optimism soon evaporates during the day. I'm worried that I catch it, and then they refuse to operate on my knee this coming week!!

I'm relieved that all the walking I have to do is to the coffee machine, the fridge, the sofa and the toilet, in no particular order, but fairly regularly throughout the day. And taking Archie out, of course.

We've just been out for a walk, testing the new extendable lead. I must say, it was ideal - I don't think Archie even realised that he was connected to me at all times. Oh, except when he really really wanted to chase those gulls.

And when he went round trees/lampposts the wrong way.

And when he was playing with a wee daschound and it ran away about ten metres, and his lead is eight metres...

And when he wanted to poke around the rubbish under a bench...

We returned to the scene of the crime, where he ran off last week. I wanted to see if there was anything that still interested him in that area. Nope.

Archie is happy to be home. He has slept on my lap all day when it was available. Which, when I wasn't walking to the coffee machine, fridge or toilet, it was.

Mind you, this is what normally happens anyway, nothing to do with us abandoning him for two days...
