Mimosa Blossom

My favorite tree is the Mimosa. This one is between my parents' & grandparents' properties. We also had one in my front yard as a kid, & I have fond memories of playing with the blossoms which reliably arrived just in just time for my birthday every summer! Being a big kid, I had to tuck a frilly pink bloom behind my ear, for nostalgia's sake. Last year, Mom got me a sapling Mimosa, which I planted in my backyard. I was sick when the juvenile branches were stripped off during the freakish October snowstorm last fall. Fortunately, it has mended & regrown nicely, albeit no blooms yet --hopefully next summer.
