Malaga in the rain

Today is the last day of our holiday, we will be flying home tomorrow.  We left Cordoba this morning (in the rain) and have now arrived at a very wet Malaga.  

It has been raining nearly all day, not what you expect in Andalusia, but it is February and in parts of Northern Spain they are expecting 5cm of snow....

This is a shot of the tower of the Cathedral at Malaga, above the rain sodden streets.  Originally there were to be two towers, but after 200 years they ran out of money, and the stump of the other tower remains, uncompleted at the front of what is otherwise a very fine looking building.  Very strange!  The extra is a strange bridge within the Cathedral that links the outer wall of the building with the row of pillars behind the main altar - I have absolutely no idea what for :-)

A visit to the Picasso museum frustrated, as we rather thought it would.  He was such a talented artist, undoubtedly a genius, and yet his practice of dashing of artwork to avoid "finishing" it and so killing his muse, seems to result in so much that is (to us at least) at best slapdash.... and yet in every room there were works of such beauty and insight that you could not but be entranced.

Now we have our last meal to look forward to and then tomorrow's flight home.  It has been a great trip, full of photo opportunities, and we will definitely be back to this part of the world, out of season, in the future.
