Between fen and mountains

A gentle walk

It was such a nice day that I decided to join a walk in Swineshead. The pace was slow as some of the walkers were quite elderly including a very game 90 year old. The village church is huge for the size of the place but this is not unusual given the 'wool money' wealth of the Middle Ages in this area.  In the afternoon, I went out locally.  Mrs TT had done her walk so I decided to accompany her.  I spent the rest of the afternoon writing notes for our insurance company's barrister in defence of a claim for a woman's bump on the head when she tripped in the shop doorway saying a heavy and stiff gate had somehow blown into her on a still day!  No win, no fee so why not claim.  If you have done it ten times before you get good at it I suppose!  An egg on the head can be worth more than a thousand ponds especially if you are allowed to claim for the housework your husband did for a week while you did not feel up to it. No wonder insurance premiums are so high.  I am getting a bit fed up with how much of my time it is taking up!
