Memories, possibly painful!
Depending, of course if one was on the giving or receiving end of the above.
For those not of a certain age, this is a "Lochgelly", the tawse or simply, the belt. Up to 1981, this was used in Scottish schools (can't speak for English schools) to maintain discipline (And, on occasion, to encourage studious application!)
Nowadays, they are simply decorators, conversation pieces and, I am reliably informed, accessories in certain role-playing scenarios. I leave you to draw your own conclusions on that last one!
Funny old day, weatherwise. Rona has been walked more or less dry and we have been out with friends for a great lunch and catch-up session. The promised rain did not materialise although there were heavy grey clouds all around. Will we see some sunshine? Maybe tomorrow, please. In fact, pretty please, with sugar sprinkles on!
