Em's excitement for her first visit to London was second only to her excitement at meeting her new nephew earlier in the week. All through the train journey she chattered excitedly with Grandad and Nananne, thrilled by tunnels and landmarks along the way. Once in the city we waited in line for a while for tickets to the RA Painting the Modern Garden exhibit, rewarded by the sensual warmth and colour of paintings by many great names and lesser known artists. Then a visit to a handful of 'must-see' sights for Em, Big Ben, River Thames, Houses of Parliament, walking through Westminster to St James' Park and onto Trafalgar Square, all the while realising I've missed this city.
