Valentine

I was awakened by the arrival at my bedside of a red rose, a pain au chocolat and a cup of coffee. A good start to the day. My valentine also gave me a lovely ammonite in a pendant; it's very pleasing to wear, being something so much older even than I.

Then in the afternoon I had to catch a train to Milton Keynes - well, two trains in fact, since the continued closure of the W Coast line north of Carlisle means travelling into London, walking from KX to Euston, and travelling back out again.
