The train from Kuranda
J and l took took a gondala up to the tiny rainforest market town of Kuranda today, swinging along above the trees. The trip back down was on the old train line built in the late 1880s and into the 1890s, it is truely an amazing engineering feat, covering 37 kilometres.
The old engine was beautifully painted to depict the Aboriginal serpent which tunnelled through the gorges of this area.
