Clix : Aperture Wide Shut

Street

Not "Street" as in "Street Photography".

Just a street.

But this street holds the cause of our stressful ups and downs for the past few weeks.

Ever since the Friday when I was flying back from Israel. I landed in Heathrow, switched on my phone and it rang straight away. MrsClix informed me she had just bought a house.

Yes. A house.

No. Not just any house.

A house on this street.

A house that used to be a Guest House.

Eight bedrooms. Three bathrooms.

Been sitting empty for a few years with a few holes in the roof.

It needs more work than you can imagine.

The seller wanted contracts concluded within five days. The bank wanted report this, report that. The trustees for the estate (three more solicitors) wanted this that and the next. It pinged and ponged round for weeks. One day it was on. The next it was off.

We felt surrounded with solicitors and bankers on all sides and all of it seemingly out of our control.

Then yesterday it fell into place.

Now I'm not sure if we feel relieved or scared!

Ho Hum. Madness all round I guess.
