Grey Heron

On a half term trip down the coast of Oman, hopefully ending up on Masirah island and then beyond. We have stopped overnight at Al Ashkarah (about 250km away from home)When we went for a walk my heart sunk when I found a huge Hawksbill Turtle dead on the beach. Of course it may have died from natural causes but it is without doubt the biggest turtle I have ever seen. All along this coast it is a haven for all kinds of animals and birds as it is stunning, empty and unpopulated. I'm hoping to see lots of different birds, but for today and with the help of Wifi on my camera I am uploading a very common bird, a lovely Grey Heron on the wing over the sea.
