inspired by the birds that flew away
They are all beginning to visit our garden now that we have chosen a better site for the bird feeders and there is more cover for them to hide in. The sparrows were the first to arrive. Then the family of four blackbirds began tentatively to take bread from the lawn. Two goldfinches have sat at the top of the sloe tree, eyeing up the mixed seeds. The next time I looked, they were on the feeder spitting out the ones they didn't want and eating their favourites. Half a dozen starlings circled the garden before landing with a swoosh on the fat balls, fighting for the best position. A pair of wood pigeons tumbled down, performing acrobatics as they tried to reach the seeds ion the squirrel-proof tray.
I made several attempts to blip our feathered friends but they were too quick for me. Here is just a shadow of the centre stage, captured on the garden fence in the evening sunshine.
