Consul visits the Crown !
Incongruous as it seems today this must
have been quite a regular sight on
Scarborough's Esplanade in the 50's and
60's. The Crown Hotel opened for the first
time in 1845 and the first Consul left the
production line 105 years later. Never to
be forgotten are the numbers who could
be squeezed onto those bench seats back
and front with the benefit of the steering
column gear change and the delightful
cruising speed !
