Hokkien Chinese New Year

While on a stroll after gym to get dinner from the usual place I noticed this pork butchery looking very different. I approached and asked an elderly Chinese gentleman what this get up was for and he explained that it was meant to be an offering to God. I asked if it had anything to do with the Hokkien Chinese New Year that's today. Apparently it does. Cool. Sugarcanes even.
