A single red rose

I think this is the very first single red rose that has been given to me. :)
It was given to me last night from my little friend with whom I'd had dinner. Which made it all the more special. :)

Today was a beautiful (cold) sunny day, so I decided to take Jewelz for a nice walk somewhere. She was very excited in the car!
As I drove I found my route was changing to avoid dark clouds and shadows from hills!
We ended up at Linton Falls.
As soon as we were sorted and started walking it started snowing!!! And got heavier. The flakes were big and fluffy.
It didn't last all that long with only enough to barely cover the ground. But unbeknown to me it was sticky snow that when compacted forms perfect little balls of ice....under Jewlez paws! :(
I noticed her limping and took a look. Already the ice balls were 2cm in diameter!
I knew there was no way she could manage the walk I'd planned, so we turned and headed back.
She hobbled along not too bad while we were in the soft, muddy field but when we reached the stone path she slowed until she'd ground to a halt. :(
There was nothing I could do but encourage her to keep going. A lady noticed her difficulty and asked if she could help. I asked her to walk her to the drive and hold her there while I brought the car as close as I could. It wasn't till Jewelz was walking up the ramp into the car that the lady really appreciated what I was saying and what the problem was.
I was very pleased to have the lady's help. And even more pleased to get my baby into the car so she could start thawing!
So it ended up being a VERY short walk ... but that was fine hopefully we'll get out for a nice walk later this week. :)
