Female Sonoran Carpenter Bee

Backblip...Although these look like the black bumblebees we have in the states, this female sonoran carpenter bee is larger, about an inch long.  They are shy and do not bite unless provoked, but they get your attention with their size.  The males are a beautiful honey color.
