the day after

Oh my, were we feeling the worse for wear! Especially me :)

It's not often I drink nowadays, but I'd had waaaaay too much prosecco on our wedding day!  I was so busy enjoying myself as well that I don't think I ate too much either :)  We got home from the hotel after seeing dad off (he left to spend the night out at uncle Wes and auntie Ju's in Dollar) and I didn't move off the sofa for about 10 hours.  We were supposed to fly to Ireland in the evening for our honeymoon but it just wasn't possible.  The after effects of planning a last-minute wedding, the comedown after a few weeks of prep and stress, and the tiredness after all the happiness and emotion on the day....all meant that we just had to stay put.  My aunt had kept her holiday cottage in Ballintoy free for us to stay in for a few days and we were so sad to miss out on the opportunity to see it but hopefully we'll get booked to go over again soon.  I want to show Pierre Northern Ireland and the places I grew up in.

Mum headed off in the afternoon to get on her flight - she was going to N.I. for a few days to see family and friends.

Pierre's parents weren't expecting to see us after our wedding day, but they came back from a day's sight-seeing and there we were at the house :)

We looked through the photos from Jenny as well as the videos and photos my uncle Wes had taken - was so lovely to look back on the day.
