Roman in the Gloamin'
We've had a fantastic day so far. Just time to squeeze in a quick blip before we walk round to D's sister's for dinner.
Helen, D and I took Poppy over to the Roman Museum and fort at Vindolanda, up the road from D's parents' house. Amazingly, just a few miles from Brampton (which had no snow) there was a good covering of snow on the ground and then another snowfall while we were walking around the ruins.
It was a fascinating visit and the snow made the scenery even more beautiful. We had a good walk along Hadrian's Wall at Wall Craggs and lunch in the museum café, looking out at the fort remains and watching the snow fall.
Magical.
Extra photo is Helen and Pops throwing snowballs.
