Lift off!

Today Helen and I went to the Stone Circle where I had experimented a few days ago with Neutral Density filters. Typically, today I left the filters back home, so I shot some more reconnaissance photos. Then on the way home we encountered a huge field of Pink-Footed Geese, who began to take flight when I stopped the car briefly. We continued home, letting them settle back on the ground, and I got a 300mm lens and headed back. No parking space, so a quick stop among the traffic and very quick hand-held work with the 'big lens'. I got a number of good shots, some of the many hundreds of the flock up in the air, heading south. I like this one best, though.
