Bedroom ambush
After dinner this evening we discovered that our bedroom had been ambushed. The floor was strewn with red bougainvillea petals and candles.
Because I'd spent much of the day reading a rather gory (and silly) book about murdering women and skinning their corpses to make leather, I initially perceived the petals as bloodstains!
Happily we soon made sense of the scene. Our room had been decorated by the hotel staff in recognition of our status as returning guests.
Reading today: finished The book collector by Alice Thompson; started The lost Tudor princess by Alison Weir.
Scrabble today: one game - I beat Mr hazelh 361 to 306.
