A Comedy of Errors

My elderly cousin and her son were due to arrive for an overnight visit by 3.30pm this afternoon. By 6.00,pm it was dark, we are in a very rural area so how would they find us? Ryanair's website showed their flight from Ireland to Luton had landed yet there was no sign of them. We were worried.

At 6/30pm our phone rang....it was our visitors....where are you?....we are on your drive!.....relief...

What had happened? They had been delayed for 4hours because of fog in Ireland. They had texted me several times about the delay but I didn't receive them as my mobile is out of service! They didn't think to call our landline!!!! They assumed I was receiving all their updates. Why hadn't I phoned them? I didn't have their mobile numbers!

So a happy ending to a very stressful afternoon. And whiskey played an important part in the late night bonding!
