Cambridge Park
Today's blip was taken in Cambridge Park in St Peter Port. There is lovely shady promenade walk along one edge which I have captured. There is a granite stone in the foreground which reads as follows.
"In 1795 near this spot one of the last duels fought in Guernsey took place between two officers of the garrison. Major W Byng of the 92 Foot was killed, his name and the date was carved on the bark of this tree"
There was no sign of the enscription, I suspect his tree has long gone.
