Summit of Gowbarrow

A rare image of me. A much gentler excursion today after yesterday's expedition to Bow Fell.

Left the cottage at 10.00am, stumbled into Booths for a coffee and scone. Did a bit of shopping then got in the car and drove over Kirkstone Pass to the Inn on the Lake in Glenridding where we left our stuff before going on to Aira Force and lunch at the cafe before a gentle 4 mile stroll to the summit of Gowbarrow.

Back to the hotel, our favourite, to enjoy the lake views as dusk fell. Then enjoyed a lovely dinner afterwards. Three really wonderful days in what has turned out to be a superb week despite the wetness early in the week.
