Threatening sky...

A dry start,but not as frosty as yesterday. By mid morning it was starting to look like a change was on the way,then by tonight the sun was back.
Spent the afternoon bruising sheep feeding. That is the X ewes started on trough feeding today in the run up to lambing.They are on a home mix of oats,barley ,sugar beet shreds,a 34% protein blend and in feed minerals.
As the weeks progress I step up the amount of protein in the mix until they lamb.
The next problem is that the shed we use to lamb in is still sitting full of straw. May have to sell some to make room,but after last harvest there is plenty of straw in the country so the price is no use.

There was a couple of reps in this week pushing for me to order fertilizer-the price of this hasn't dropped much though. This is despite the plummeting oil price,which the manufacturers always quote as the reason to put prices up when oil is dear !
