Far be it from me to try to figure out the master plan here. OilMan and I have both spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out what is going on, but only time…lots of it apparently…will tell. There is one paved road inviting us in, and a lot of black plastic dams, orange plastic barriers and chain link fences designed to keep us out! We gaze out at the earth movers pushing dirt around and are none the wiser….Here is the last shot I posted of this project. The main changes have been achieved by nature in the form of lots of green grass around the perimeter.. The whole little valley was once nothing but grassy hills and running creeks at this time of year….
There is a new house going up just down the road from where I took this picture. I'm impressed at how quickly it has taken shape, and feel a bit sorry for whoever is building it with an expansive view of the earthworks.
My normal route to the Flying Goat was interrupted today by another visit to my new doctor. After getting off on the wrong foot with the last one, I'm pleased to say that this one is much more engaged and seemingly interested in my welfare. I have what is known as "labile" blood pressure, often quite low, but at other times…most dependably when I see the doctor…it is quite high. Difficult to treat I admit, but I'm not sure how returning every three months to have my blood pressure checked by the selfsame doctor is going to help…
Spring like weather has persisted for most of the month, which means that when the El Niño rains return as promised, we will have had a taste of spring that it will be difficult to give up. If we actually (and probably miraculously) get enough rain this winter to end a four year drought, the the ark jokes will have run their course and we will all be living lives of quiet desperation in our houses. For the moment I plan to fully enjoy a zen like existence* among the daffodils, and blooming acacias, the plum trees and the verdant hills.
