Gonville and Caius College

This college which is situated in the heart of Cambridge was founded in 1348 and due to disrepair was refounded in 1557. This view is from King's Parade looking towards the Great Gate with Trinity St on the right. Through the Great Gate is a memorial to Francis Crick, joint discoverer along with James Watson, of the structure of DNA. Maurice Wilkins and Rosalind Franklin also contributed to the discovery. The three men jointly received the Nobel Prize but because it could only be awarded to no more than three people, the lady was left out  !
