Overshadowed

Until the formation of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames in 1965 this rather fine building was the town hall of the Borough of Malden and Coombe. Just as the borough was swallowed up by its neighbours so the town hall has co-opted by some rather characterless new buildings to form the local branch of Waitrose supermarket. Still, it could have been worse, at least they didn't just tear it down and replace it with a glass and concrete slab.

Following yesterday's physical exertions I wasn't in a fit state to go any further afield in search of a blip, which was a shame given what a lovely day it was.
