Temporary Death

Last summer I walked down this path brushing the chest-high vegetation aside. Now everything looks dead, but down at soil level you can  feel the energy of the earth about to burst through. The celandines and snowdrops haven’t been able to contain themselves, but they won’t be alone for long.

Not as sharp as I’d like but it was quite dark under the trees.
