more grease next time

I have better things to do in the evening than hacksaw through bolts whose sockets decide to give up on their third unfastening but I want to get the front mudguard properly-fitted so that I can start fiddling about with the back one, which will take longer. The front has been working but whined slightly at low speeds where the front edge turned to the right and brushed the tyre in a not-potentially-dangerous-but-merely-irritating way. The performance of the brake with a couple of spacers between it and the fork will be closely-monitored tomorrow.

The back one will take much longer not only because it will require trimming and mount-bodging but would also much benefit from re-dishing the wheel beforehand, as it's crept a little to the left since it was built and was always a little off-centre to make sure the spokes didn't get anywhere near the chain. There'll be nowhere near enough clearance for a mudguard underneath the brake bridge when the wheel is centered but maybe just enough if the centre of the guard is cut out, which will avoid either having a guard ending before it reached the brake (which I have at the moment) or one which is attached in two independent pieces.
