Lexi
We went for a sightseeing drive around Napier today - and I didnt have the camera with me :-(( .
In mid morning on Feb 3rd 1931, this area was struck by a 7. 8 earthquake that lasted for two and a half minutes. The death toll was 256 and nearly all the buildings in the central area of Napier were leveled. Within minutes fire had broken out and many of the trapped were unable to be saved in time.
As most of the rebuilding took place in the 1930s when Art Deco was fashionable, the architecture here is considered to be one of the finest collections of Art Deco in the world.
All of which has nothing to do with Lexi the family dog, who is my emergency blip for today. Lexi is a miniature poodle crossed with a bichon frise and was specifically chosen for her non allergenic hair because my daughter has an allergy to dogs. Lexi went to the Groomers for a hair cut today and has come home with quite a bouffant look.
