present day dinosaur....

Today we visited  the Isaac Conservation and Wildlife Trust. A local private trust who are doing a wonderful job with NZ's critically endangered species. The public are not allowed through the area, but we were lucky to visit. This is a tuatara- possibly a 100yrs old. This one was intercepted at the airport from someone trying to smuggle it. An amazing  lizard.
