Orgy on the Oregano

I noticed the oregano is absolutely heaving with insect life. I should have harvested it before it flowered, but then I wouldn't have seen this. Although they look like bees, I'm sure they aren't honey bees. Maybe there is an insect expert out there who can throw some light onto the identity of these revellers?
