My companion this afternoon
I wanted to finish off what I had started in the garden: preparing an even surface under our drying line in the top garden. Well, I got it finished with the help of two Robins who came to eat the grubs that I dug up. I was grateful for both the company and for their eating of the chaffer grubs.
Having dug out a load of Montbretia, a tree stump and areas of raised levels with rough grass growing upon it, I raked out the finished area and sowed grass seed. With the present conditions we should have a sward of fresh new grass very soon.
