sasha waits for the train

we are staying in vila madalena in sampa - the "bohemian" area and centre of the city's carnaval street parties. whoever invented soundproof windows - we salute you!

today we met up with an old friend of mine who I've probably not seen for around seven years, and has been living here for four. we drank martinis at the skye bar in jardins, which has a rooftop bar with a view over endless skyscrapers, and strolled around the adjacent park, park ibirapuera. and we dropped by the municipal market, in a sketchy area that surprised even us rio residents, but sasha was finally able to source all the spices he needs to make his own curry. driving home tomorrow.
