Hokitika Gorge

New Zealand Day 14 and time to move on from Hokitika to Fox Glacier. Another lovely day but before we left this charming town with its very interesting history I went to admire the large statue of Robert Burns ( unfortunately missing part of his nose!)
We then had a lovely drive through farmland up to Hokitika Gorge - the water was a beautiful turquoise blue and a few hardy young people were braving the very cold water.
Time then to drive to Fox Glacier although unfortunately the cloud was too low to see Mount Cook and surrounding peaks. After dinner we did have a lovely walk round Lake Matheson and although there were some beautiful reflections of the trees we were denied the classic Mount Cook reflections seen on a clear evening.
