Avoiding the Torch - Tuesday

I thought I might do another 'Welcoming the Torch' shot today because it comes through Winchester tomorrow so I could have shown you the place I intend to perch to blip it from (the roof of my garden shed, since you ask). Also, parts of yesterday's Tree of Light, which I've been involved with, are going to the Reading Torch Relay today, which might have been another reason to stay with it (though, mercifully, I don't need to be there). But in the end, my daughter and I went for a chill-out walk after work and caught this instead - something as far away from Torch shenannigans as it's possible to be.

Our walk led through a lost piece of land in the Itchen Valley that I don't think had ever seen a pesticide or herbicide. On either side of the path there were shoulder-high walls of nettles and hogweed and so many butterflies. This, I think, is a ringlet and plenty of his brothers and sisters were around, along with other browns, marbled whites, fritilleries and a painted lady.

Hope you've had a good Tuesday
