A bit of a lazy day today, which has been nice.

Made butternut squash & mung dahl soup...I haven't tried it yet, so hope it is an ok combination. I roasted the squash first, and then peeled it before adding to the soup.  I thought the hens would love to peck at the peel and get squash off it, but they didn't seem to know what to do with it.  Once one works out how to eat something, the others usally follow.

Saw this feather in the garden - I expect it is from a hen rather than a wild bird, but it is a pretty and delicate pattern.
