Please do say it from your knees
Last night we went to An Aye Write event. Despite Aye Write not starting until March, the organisers had managed to secure an appearance from Jon Ronson.
I only first heard of Jon Ronson 3 or 4 weeks ago - he was on Simon Mayo's Drive Time show and I was listening, and pulled up to hear in it's entirety. I was completely and utterly smitten. He was talking about shows he was doing in London, based around his book "The Psychopath Test".
He was completely endearing.
Then I discovered these tickets were on sale.
So I dragged K along, and we arrived just in time to queue up and get a drink and look at the assembled academics, and contemplate that we did not match up to the general level of intelligence. But that happens everywhere we go.
The Royal Concert Hall has lovely new venues inside - and this was the first one in the hall we were in.
Mr Ronson was booked to talk for an hour, but was on stage for an hour and a half - telling us amusing anecdotes and tales from his book; and then took questions and answers.
The main area of his talk was Public Shaming, and K and I sat the whole way through and contemplated what part of public shaming did we partake in... and sat with guilty faces, trying to remember if we had ever enjoyed the ridicule of someone on social media. We thought not.
But then we spoiled it all by posting a photo of a drunk who lay down in front of us in the path.
And just in case you missed it on Social Media... I've added it in the Extra Photos :-)
