An early start as the local marathon was on today, I wasn't running, but hey, I was up early on a Saturday taking photos, that has to count for something. Then a cancelled dog grooming and a cancelled rugby match, but the third item on today's schedule did take place. A cake sale as part of local efforts to send volunteers and supplies to refugees on Greek Islands. It was in a small rural school, forbidding, bleak outside, a modern Dotheboys Hall. Inside alive with tea, scones, raffle tickets, chat. We ended up buying back half the key lime pie Z had made as we'd been drooling about it on the way there. Charity ends at home.
