It's flowering

The bromeliad I bought a week before Christmas is still going strong and last week showed signs of a tiny flower head peeping out. I couldn't see further growth after some TLC (cleaning leaves and a regular light spray of water) and moved it into the bathroom two days ago encouraging further growth. The bathroom is of a contant heat and at times quite humid which is perhaps enough to help this plant flourish.
I will post in the extra a bromeliad we came across in Australia, possibly my all time favourite colour for a flower.
