horns of wilmington's cow

Got through a lot today. Out with the chooks while I got the new cassette onto the bike, as well as the new saddle and bar tape. Not sure it looks better than the white that came off (in the extra), but for cyclocross it's a bit more practical. Which is what is needed before the next race in Kirkcaldy tomorrow.

Then we were onto a bus into town to go and fetch cheese to eat watching the rugby, and rather than bussing home we wandered back round the south of Holyrood Park. And once back it was onto the bike to see if the new cassette had completely sorted the skipping chain issue (given there's only so much the bike on the workstand can tell you - it has though), and check in on Jerry Mandarin, and 4 weeks after he reappeared in the Figgate he's still there. Got chatting to a couple about him, turns out they live the other end of our street, and were getting a few shots to send to a friend in the States.

Rugby now on the go, cheese to be devoured from half time, alcohol to be limited in the hope it aids performance tomorrow (I'm intrigued to see if the last three weeks onto the much longer commute will benefit me at all); with bad news that Ken has had a few complications from his recent surgery and so won't make it to Kirkcaldy with us.

And breathe.
