Letter

This past month has been all kinds of stressful at work following a few formal complaints lodged against me by a "group" of students (says Boss) about the (mis)management of my class. I've just been taking it with a spoonful of sugar and carrying on.

This was slipped into my hand by a student after her class. It was touching to see the personal messages from individual students in the following leaves of paper, but, as a colleague put it, the irreparable damage is done and it doesn't take the complaint away.

At this juncture I find myself wondering what kind of educator I want to be. I'm questioning 5 years of teaching experience. I'm tired, jaded, tempted to cross over to the light side, but mostly feel stabbed in the back.
