This was a sight which greeted me today in a local town, where (I've mentioned before), that volunteers every few months if that, with funding from local businesses and people I believe, plant flowers in either one of several plant stands, or a border, with the plant stands near and down the main High Street of the town.

Although there weren't as many through December and January, they were still some to be found and were a welcome sight :-)
