A dress fit for a princess!

When I was young I had a kilt which I used to wear on a Sunday but I would have loved a silk dress (made in the 1860s) like this for special occasions. This is one of the exhibits in the Glasgow Art Galleries.  

'Queen Victoria started a fashion when she dressed her children in tartan.  The little girl who wore this dress liked it so much that it was lengthened when she grew.'
