Flower Friday 05: Primrose

Its been a dark, dull, drizzly sort of a day here, which has been entirely appropriate as I've been off work again with this wretched virus.  Hopefully tomorrow I'll start feeling more like myself!

I nipped outside very briefly between raindrops to grab this shot.  I was slightly disconcerted to find that one of the neighbourhood cats had left us a little present of a dead greenfinch on the back door mat.  I've no problem with people keeping cats, but I wish they would put bell collars on them.

My extra shot is part of my A year with my camera course.  I almost put this up as my blip.  This week we are looking at the effect of ISO.  I'm pretty comfortable with this already really (I touched on this in my comments on Wednesday's shot of the greenfinches).  One of the great advantages of the DSLR compared to my old film SLR is that ability we  now have to effectively change the speed of the film on the fly to suit the shot you are trying for at any given time.  The extra was taken at f29 with a 15s  exposure at ISO 200.
