Mysterious Bridge Thingys
I had seen them from the train,
ticki-tee, ticki-tee,
Between the gaps in the buildings,
ticki-tee, ticki-tee,
Fleeting seconds of new colour,
ticki-tee, ticki-tee,
Decorating the foot bridge between Flinders Street Station and Queensbridge Road.
They were still there on the way back sprouting up between the existing sculptures, bright & shiny & laughing.
Investigation was required!
Wedged between the perspex & metal webs of the existing bridge sculptures are almost luminous satin whirly gigs .... or windmills ..... or flowers ..... or mysterious thingys you can see from the train window as it gentle rocks around the bend between Flinders Street Station & Southern Cross Station.
A part of Melbourne's Chinese New Year decorations they have brought new life to the busy "looking serious on my way to work" walk bridge & are one of the many decorations that will add to the atmosphere of the cities celebrations!
This blip is taken through a gap in the frame-work of the bridge on an otherwise glary grey day. Check it out on its side - think it looks better that way :)
