Cicada Singing ....

Only the male cicada sings  to court the females.....at the moment our garden is a reverberating with the sound of dozens of these insects vibrating drumlike cymbals rapidly......(one of the joys of summer.......)
Have just had a lovely lunch at Waimea Winery with friends from Christchurch who are still waiting confirmation on their house rebuild...such a long drawn out process for some...they are loving their summer holiday at Kaiteriteri......
